ABOUT US

“What will bring joy to us today that we’ll still have twenty or thirty years from now, and what will we pass down to those who come after us?”

Cabinette exists to reinterpret everyday objects in ways that invite us to shift our perspective. Mundanity is voluntary, and we have unsubscribed. Happy humans, happy pets and happy plants are the North Star. The effort we put into both our designs and how we make our products is a return to creating things that are meant to last. We seek pure materials, highly skilled human hands, and centuries old processes to create new products made to become future relics.

There’s a whole world inside.
Get away. Stay home.

about our products

ceramics

Dating back to the Tang Dynasty (618-917) or 18th Century England, depending on who you believe, slip casting is the traditional method of making clay objects out of plaster molds. Our products are made in the equally exotic Pacific Northwest of the United States.

Cotton

Ethiopia's cotton begins in the sun-drenched lowlands, where smallholder farmers nurture cotton plants without heavy chemicals or industrial machinery. Cotton here is hand-harvested and de-seeded using simple wooden gins passed down through generations. The cotton is then handspun to create an exceptional textile that is both warm and breathable with a texture that feels like a hybrid of cotton, linen and velvet.

Wool

Sourced from regional flocks in the Northeastern United States, our wool products are hand dyed and woven on traditional dobby looms largely unchanged since the 18th century. These heirloom quality blankets take a skilled weaver over 60 hours to complete and are made to last lifetimes.
